Bruno RIGUTTO

Bruno Rigutto studied piano at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris with Lucette Descaves, chamber music with Jean Hubeau and  also studied composition and conducting.

Bruno has been a top prize winner at several international competitions notably the Marguerite Long in Paris and Tchaikowsky in Moscou. He began his international career at an early age and has been invited since to perform with conductors including Carlo Maria Guilini, Lorin Mazel, Georges Prêtre, Stanislav Skrowaczewski, Kurt Masur, Zdenek Macal, Serge Baudo.

Bruno’s work has included performances with major orchestras such as Concergebouw in Amsterdam, Cleveland Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the NHK in Tokyo, Santa Caecilia Orchestra in Rome, the orchestras of Barcelona, Madrid, Leningrad, Monte Carlo and the Orchestra of the Gulbenkian Foundation.

Bruno dedicates much of his time to chamber music, working regularly with Isaac Stern, Jean-Pierre Wallez, Pierre Amoyal, Raphaël Oleg, Patrice Fontanarosa, Brigitte Engerer, Olivier Charlier, Barbara Hendricks, Michel Portal, Mstislav Rostropovich, Arto Noras and Yo Yo Ma.

 He has recorded for DECCA, EMI, FORLANE, DENON, LYRINX and has obtained several Grand Prix du Disque.

 He is now a teacher at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris where he succeeded Aldo Ciccolini.
