In 1994, Françoise Pollet was voted best lyric opera performer of the season, while 10 years earlier she was making her debut at the Lubeck opera, singing the role of ‘La marechal du Rosenkavalier’ by Richard Strauss.

Françoise’s previous operatic work has included singing at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, at the Fenice in Venice, at the Met in New York and also at the Opera Bastille in Paris. She has always given as much importance to concert performances as piano recitals.

This season  she gave a stunning performance with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra singing the role of ‘ Erwartung’ by Schonberg with Maestro David Robertson.  In addition she performed with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra for the third time conducted by Charles Dutoit, and in August she gave several critically acclaimed performances of Le visage Nuptial with Maestro Pierre Boulez at the London BBC Proms. Following the BBC Proms, she sung at the Edinburgh festival, and before the end of the season, she will be performing in Strasbourg, Lucerne, Paris with the Ensemble Intercontemporain, with the Orchestre du Capitole in Toulouse with Michel Plasson and with the Orchestre National de Lyon conducted by David Robertson.

With a ravishing and out of the ordinary personality, Françoise Pollet never ceases to surprise us with the utmost poise and musicality of her voice and her eclectic repertoire which includes composers such as Strauss, Verdi, Wagner, Berlioz and Dukas, and their contemporaries such as Boulez, Liebermann, Messiaen, Boesmans and Florentz.

During 1993 she took part in the creation of ‘Reigen’ by Philippe Boesmans in Brussels at the Monnaie and in September 1995 she sung the title role of ‘Freispruch fur Medea’ by Rolf Liebermann, being performed for the first time.
